How the 100-210 Sand Slurry Pump Handles Mixtures of Mud, Sand and Solid Particles Meta description:

Learn about the hydraulic and material design of our 100-210 sand slurry pump, built with wear-resistant cast iron casing and impeller for abrasive mud-sand mixed media.

Many regular water pumps fail quickly once they meet mud, sand and hard solid particles. Sharp grains continuously strike and scrape internal parts, causing fast erosion, clogging and frequent shutdowns. That is why we engineered the 100-210 sand slurry pump specifically for this tough working condition.

This is a centrifugal sand slurry pump. When it runs, the motor drives the impeller to spin at high speed. Mud and sand mixture flows into the pump inlet. The rotating impeller gives the slurry kinetic energy through centrifugal force, pushing the mixture outwards into the volute pump casing. Inside the casing, flow channels gradually expand. Flow speed drops, and kinetic energy turns into pressure energy, so the pump can push the mud-sand slurry along pipelines for long-distance delivery.

The biggest challenge of pumping sand slurry is abrasion. Solid particles keep hitting the impeller inner wall and pump casing during operation. For this reason, we adopt heavy-duty wear-resistant cast iron for both pump casing and impeller. Compared with ordinary cast iron, this material features higher hardness and better anti-erosion performance. It can stand repeated impact and friction from sand and sediment, greatly extending service life and cutting your maintenance and replacement cost.

Beyond material selection, its hydraulic structure is also optimized for solids passage. Wide, smooth flow passages reduce the risk of blockage. The impeller blade profile is redesigned to guide mixed media steadily instead of trapping grains. It can continuously transport mud, fine sand and small solid particles under stable flow and head.

The 100-210 sand slurry pump is widely used for river dredging, pond sediment cleaning, sand extraction, farmland sediment transfer and other slurry transport jobs. If you need a reliable pump to move sand-mud mixtures with solid particles, this model is a practical, cost-effective option.
